Yes, many times I've driven past someone with a disabled vehicle or something. By the time it registers you think, "Oh, it's too late to turn around and go back to them," or "They look like they're in trouble, but maybe it's setup and they're dangerous."
But I do wish I could help them, even in cases where I genuinely think it's the right and safe thing to do not to stop.

Yes, A homeless person, or someone asking, begging instead of getting a job or any of the things I would rather he do. Perhaps he was not able, but you become jaded seeing so many in the same spot daily, when you used to roll down the window and hand them 1,2,5$ now you are tainted by dissolution and harden your heart. Do what you can when you can, and if you believe they need help, let them snicker at your naivety God See's and loves you for it.

Maybe not refused but passed right by and yes I wish I could back up and make that choice again.....but to the betterment of both of us!
Random acts of kindness hopefully make up for some of my other selfishness!

Yes. I will regret it to my dying day.
I was newly married and a good friend of mine (male) wanted to stay at our house. Actually, he wanted to rent a room in the basement that we were just starting to gut and remodel. I told him it probably wouldn't be a good idea (just married and the room was not really habitable).
He killed himself a few weeks later. No one really ever knew why. I always wonder if I would have let him stay with us, if it would have changed the outcome.

Yes one time there was a bum that asked me for some money and I told him no. I felt really bad because he seemed like he honestly needed the money but I didn't have any at the time.

Yes when I see someone from my neighborhood walking up the road, only reason I don't stop is cause they might take advantage of me every time they need to go somewhere

Yes, but that thought came up after I had done what was first to be done and realized I had the extra time.

I'm afraid so. We're all human and make mistakes. The only thing that you can do is try to do better the next time.
