What have I missed since this show began? I've been trying to watch re-runs, and I catch bits and pieces of major sub plot twists including: a Sara/Grissom connection, and Grissom/Sophia connection, and a Warrick/Catherine connection as well. Now Grissom and Willows are on different shifts, and she's a supervisor? And when did Eric Szmanda get out of the DNA lab? Could someone fill me in on the back stories behind what's been going on? It's distracting me from watching the show because I've missed years worth of character developing stories!!!

Yeah, you have missed a lot. All of those little sub plots happened at way different times. Heres a quick recap:
The Grissom/Sophia thing never panned out and Sophia moved on.
Grissom/Sara just recently officially hooked up this season.
Warrick/Catherine can't hook up cause Warrick is married - although theres some sexual tension still bewteen them. Catherine was also pretty pissed when Warrick got hitched at the spur of the moment (I think that was like 1 or 2 seasons ago).
Eric just got outta the lab recently, maybe end of last season he started doing field work, and this season he's been in the field all the time.
The shifts did change at one point, but the gang still managed to see eachother and interact. It would seem that now they are relatively on the same shift or one that is pretty dang close because they are always together.

sara and grissom have just recently hooked up this season. As for catherine and warrick they are just friends warrick actually got married last season. They team is back together on the same shift at grissoms request and eric always wanted out of the lab it was just a matter of learning the ropes. Also catherines dad sam has been shot and killed, umm cant think of much more hope this helps you!!

if you have comcast digital cable and you have on demand you can go under some thing it like the third one down on the right its for tv shows i dont remember and you can watch all the new CSI's
