Wine is a shade of red. It's a dark, almost berry-toned red. Just like cerulean is a shade of blue, vermilion is another shade of red, etc. I suppose that means you both could technically be right, as much as you hate to hear it. When I think of plain red though I tend to think of the bright, well, red and not wine but I suppose each person will think differently on the subject.

Wine would be a little bit different then red, more dark in a way. And to answer your question they are two different colors, so now you can go tell that "somebody" that they were wrong.

Wine is in the same family of red, but it is not the same color as red. Wine has more blue in it than red does. In other words on a color wheel, the wine would be closer to blue than red is.

i'd say no-although i'm no scientist-because anybody has diverse numbers of receptors for each colour of their eye. So it basically is wise that someone with 15 pink receptors would see a diverse pink than someone with 30.
