I've heard its not gasoline or kerosene, instead a special chemical that when in flames, it doesn't produce heat. I doubt it was super human skills to eat fires, if its in circus...its a trick.

Fireeating is a skill based on the fact that the coolest part of the fire is at the base and the hottest part is the tip. If you watch a fireeater closely you'll see that they always keep the base of the fire closest to their skin and the tip furthest away from their skin. Even so, its a very dangerous trick, and there are longterm consequences.

The guy above me had a good answer, but didn't tell you what the chemical is.

They use a small amount 190 proof Grain Alcohol and blow the fumes out their mouths. To extinguish the flames, they simply close their mouth.

(And hope the don't hiccup... LOL)

Nope, the fluid is alcohol with a few things thrown in it to give
it more color when it burns...Alcohol is the flammable liquid though.
And it is hot...All flames are hot.....No cool flames....
