Please go into depth about this question if you can. I only have 11 more days to complete all of my History and English assignments, quizzes, tests, and projects. It is most likely impossible to do that but at least an effort will be made.

Hit and run tactics- supplyless- let russian winter do the rest.

AT that point the USSR was desperate and stalin had not been listening to some of his generals. All they relied on was citizens- the army was still very disorganinzed and the soviets were still industrializing rapidly. They always used the winter on their side.

I can't go in depth but basically it was to let them come into Russia. As they would come they would burn all the towns and leave nothing for the Germans. Once winter came the Germans were screwed because they couldn't get supplies in. Thats when the russians started to win battles.

Russia doesn't care how many people it loses. It always has a lot of loses but they can replace the troops fast because of their high population.

Nobody in the history of the world has invaded Russia and succeeded.

Russia delayed, trading space for time, and leaving nothing of military use behind. The Germans got deeper and deeper and soon began to run out of supplies. The lines of supply were very long and vulnerable to partisians who blew up rain lines, ambused trucks and so forth to delay the resupplies. A division of troops uses many thousands of gallons of fuel a day and many tons of ammunition every day. If there is no fuel and ammunition then the Germans could not keep their timetable...soon they were deep inside Russia.....winter was coming, and they had few supplies. On the other hand...the russians moved their factories back with them...and lend lease trucks, tanks and airplanes were being shipped into Russia through Iran and other southern nations. Eventually the russians ran out of stuff....fuel, ammunition, food, clothes....

The Soviets held the Germans in place at either flank (Leningrad and Stalingrad) and in the center (Moscow) while preparing general counterattacks along the entire front..The Soviets traditionally used massed firepower and men, overwhelming with sheer numbers. Note that the Soviets had huge numbers of 122mm and 152mm cannon, their T34 and KV1 tanks were better and more numerous than the German tanks, and the Soviets used cavalry in quite forward-thinking ways.
