wheres the hold button?... oh i know... hold on.
it will keep it from coming on if it gets pushed accidentally in your purse. or when you garden and your listen with it in your back pocket you can put it on hold so you dont sit down and push the skip or volume or anything. ..
omg, i didnt know my ipod could do that! thats so cool spefio explained that. it really clears up alot of things for me.

The hold button, when clicked over, stops time from moving as we know it. You can exist in a world where nothing changes. You don't get any older, nothing! It can be rather lonley though. Unless you happen across someone else who has also engaged the 'hold' feature. For a bit of fun, try and sync your 'hold' with a friend who also has an ipod. Apple really are at the cutting edge of technology. Oh and don't press the rewind button unless you really loved 'back to the future 2'

It disables all the buttons so that you will not accidently turn up the volume to an earsplitting level or accidently push any buttons when it's in your purse, pocket, etc.
To prolong the battery life of your iPod, when it is off, flick the hold switch on.
The hold button is also used in troubleshooting.
