When I hear women use these terms it's always in a negative context. Do all women feel a man being proud of the 'Hot Chick' on his arm is a bad thing ,Or just the ugly ones?

I don't see anything wrong a man being proud of his hot woman as long as there are a bunch of other reasons he's proud of his woman too, 'cause looks aren't everything, and we all get older. Arm Candy and Trophy Wife are used in reference to women who are ONLY there for their looks or status....and in those cases it is used in a negative context.

I think its the terms 'Arm Candy' or Trophy Wife' that upset woman because they kind of refer to a mindset of a man toward a woman rather than how beautiful she is. I know because I used to be a trophy wife and I left him because all he wanted in the marriage was someone to look good in front of his friends and employees. He was just shallow and self-centered I guess. I would love it if a guy called me a hot chick or beautiful as long as he was nice to me too.

Well - the terms "arm candy" or "trophy wife" kind of make it sound like the guy is just with her because of her looks and nothing else. There is nothing wrong with being proud of your hot wife/hubby, but when they are a "trophy" it just sounds wrong - as if you wouldn't be with them or love them if they didn't look a certain way.
If you would love your hot wife/hubby the same as if they got into a terrible disfiguring accident, then there is nothing wrong with it- but if you "love" them because they are beautiful then I think those terms are highly negative and shallow.

Nothing wrong with being proud of having an attravtive woman on your arm, but the names you suggest have really negative connotations and imply that that is the only reason the man would be with that woman

Some of the most beautiful people in this world are terribly UGLY
And I think that we as humans like to be proud of all our choices--doesn't matter if its what you drive or wear or live--its a reflection of who and what you are--so the same would be for the one you love--so how can we be put off by being flattered by the one we love?? I think its sweet to see one shine when they walk proudly into a room with the gal or guy of thier dreams--BUT If you are with someone just to make yourself look good (you think anyway) then its so obviouse and really nobody is impressed--so its a waste of time to even go there---Its like wearing fake diamonds-or a knockoff Rolex--So What??

It's not a bad thing as long as it is apparent to her and everyone else that you also like her for who she is not just what she looks like. And remember that the "ugly ones" as you said, may be ugly to you but are "arm candy" to the man she is with...beauty is in the eye of the beholder

It isnt wrong for a guy to be proud of his wife...but it should not just be about her looks.
It is always nice for a woman to know that her man thinks she is hot..but if thats it..then this is a very shallow, immature relationship.
Everything in moderation.

If you refer to her as your HOT CHICK, not good. Lots of women don't like being referred to as a "chick". "Lady, is better. AND beauty is in the eye of the beholder. My husband INSISTIS I'm beautiful, even though I'm a bit overweight and have a roll or two on my tummy which I'm working on.

go and get your little trophy wife. be as proud as a peacock. for as long as you can. because someone with more money will take that little Chickie right off your arm and then she will be his little trophy wife and he will be as proud as he can be with his "hot chick".
