Frankly, no. It would freeze his nasal passages and airways as well as his lungs. a) A person can't breathe liquids and b) Liquid oxygen is way, way too cold.

Although not considered breathing, you can put liquid oxygen on your tongue without repecussions (if done carefully). This is due to the Ledenfrost effect (however it's spelt) which also allows you to dip your damp hand in molten lead and in liquid nitrogen.

Put an automatic disclaimer here... I'm not responsible for anything you might try. ^.^

The amount of dissolved oxygen in water is too low for our body to extract it efficiently enough for us to use.
Besides. Our tidal breathing (drawing air in and pushing it out) would take a lot more energy to perform if we had to move around heavy water in and out of our lungs.

Edit*:
Oops, I didn't ready the question right. As others have stated, liquid oxygen is too cold for us to use. It would freeze the water in our cells, destroying them.

there is already synthetic liquid in which people can breathe immersed in, perfluorocarbon, also the developing fetus at one point goes through a stage where we had primordial gills, get that DNA to express itself and we can breathe again under water, probably would have to start with a new clone though LOL again
