I worked in a pizza joint while in college. We would tell everyone that we were out of black olives so when we cooked a pizza with what looked like a black olive on it, we knew it was a roach. Many times a roach has been flicked off a pizza just before serving it. That place was so roach infested, the little monsters were falling out of the ceiling. Also, this place had an automatic dishwasher, with a bin on the side to pour the detergent in that would dispense when running the plates through. It would beep when empty. Everytime someone would wash dishes, that thing would beep and beep. I finally asked where the detergent was so I could refill the bin. The assistant manager said that there was no need, because it was an "automatic dishwasher." I tried to explain about the beeping, the this guy said that he had worked in that place for four years, and the dishwasher had always beeped. Guess that explains why the dishes would slide right out of your hands if you were not careful.

I've worked at McDonald's, Del Taco & Carl's Jr.

The worst was McDonald's. When it was time to change the oil, this big noisy machine came out & the whole kitchen area, even up by the registers, smelled bad. One night, we were already closed & writing down the food that hadn't sold on the Toss Out sheets (or whatever they're now called). Some guy in a station wagon pulled in & asked for the food, claiming he had 5 hungry kids at home. The managers didn't hesitate to bag up the food & give it to him. Most of the items were 4-5 minutes PAST the allotted time for keeping warm before tossing into the trash. I prayed that they didn't get sick that night or the next day.

I've also seen pissed workers spit or wipe boogers on the food when customers ask for special handling, like no onions, or no mustard, or whatever.

whilst i replaced into 15, I worked at DQ. We had a woman that should are available a pair of times a week and demand that her warm dogs replaced into cooked a undeniable way. She replaced into constantly particularly rude and dealt with us like we've been morons no longer able to cook her nutrition till we've been instructed a thank you to do it each time. If it wasn't accomplished precisely acceptable she would deliver it returned...after taking some bites...and assume a sparkling dogs. She enjoyed her canines burnt to a undeniable quantity, so when I "by twist of fate" dropped her dogs on the floor and watched it roll around for a minute, I went forward and positioned it in the bun and served it...She did no longer deliver it returned. when you consider that then I even have worked at numerous diverse eating places and could say that they've been very sparkling and no one ever did something like that. most of the horror memories you hear are recycled and few and lots between.

I worked at Pizza Hut as a CSR so i would take orders from the phone and then put the ticket up so that the production line could make the pizzas. During the inbetween time i would make pizzas and stuff.

One time i was near the end of my shift and i hear the girl i was working with exclaim real loudly: "Oh crap, where did my nails go?" Thank God we were closing up and i didn't get any phone calls about any "extra crispy ingredients in the pizza"...

i could tell you some stories about washing hands too--- but ewwww.....

Yes I Work at McDonald's and Have for the past five years or so. And I agree with what most of the people have said on here as a crew member i have seen so much happen at the stores but i will tell you for the most part that stuff goes on behind the managers back. As a manager and I am being truth-full here I have had my share of rude and ignorant customers. But I have NEVER EVER EVER DONE SOMETHING GROSS TO ANY ONES FOOD. I don't believe in doing something like that to someone, and i really don't believe in messing with someones food that is just gross. And I do not allow my crew members to do that to peoples food on My shifts. If they do that behind my back, I don't know about that but if ever did nasty stuff like that in front of me they would be out the door. And as a crew member, yes i have heard stories of what happened to peoples food but again at least from my experience in all honesty the majority of managers would kick out anyone who did anything gross to food.

my last job we had to make the food infront of people, so we couldn't do alot. if they pissed us off enough, we'd go in the back to get a dirty knife and spit on it. if there was old food, we'd put it off to the side in the bin and save it for people who we hated.... mostly we'd just do small stuff, like making sure the meat was burned, or giving alot of hot items. if the person says "everything" we'd put everything, even the stuff that doesn't go well together or that we know the regular doesn't like.

at the place my bf works at, the servers will let the kitchen staff know if the customer is a c.u.nt. i heard once someone rubbed meat over their a.s.s before making it.

My friend's daughter worked @ Heine's Fried Chicken (closed now). The owner didn't have dish liquid soap at all. When I found that out I stopped eating chicken from there. I do not know if this is true. I think that the employees would have reported it to the Department of Health. Maybe they did.

No, we're pretty strick about that at our restuarant. But I have tons of stories about dumb employees. Like the one that locked herself in the freezer that doesn't lock and stood in there for 15 minutes screaming for someone to get her out. Or the ones that really believe that we grow potatoes in the nonexistant basement and cut the fries fresh there. Ask that question and read some of the responses, I'll bet you get some good ones.

i used to work at a bojangles which ended up cloing down... (not surprising to me)

well the boss there used to let us take leftover fried chicken home because well, because it doesnt taste the same and no one wants soggy fried chicken.

except, he wouldnt let us take home the chicken breasts because he said that was the most expensive part of the chicken which is true...

turns out he would re-fry the old breasts and serve them to people.

and btw he would use the 5 second rule in the kitchen... if it fell on the floor, he would throw it in the fryer to "kill the germs"

Yup, worked at McDonalds for almost 5 years. I can't tell you here everything I know about. I would get banned. I am just surprised people haven't found more things in their food, or they just eat it too fast and don't bother to look first.
