So great that he could change with the times, yet he stayed true to his focus and origins. He will be missed, but his legacy, music, and influence will live on. His greatness cannot be measured...

I listened to him back in his heyday. Some of his stuff was good, some was great, and some were just 'nice tries'. There were many others in his era who were equally inventive and creative in the country genre. It seems his following and pop icon status are greater now than they were in his prime.

Soooo good!! A " legend " isn't kudos's enough! His last song! "I hurt myself" wheeeew! Folsom Prison blues, Listen to those words! This was a lifetime of experience through a lifetime of song. Gotta love him! So real.

He was very talented! His deep, rich, soulful voice seemed to echo inside... amazing. Did you ever hear his rendition of that "Personal Jesus" song? Very cool!
