how can i get Battle field 2 for the pc to run with out the dvd in the drive?

i have BattleField 2 for the pc and love it, but my lil cousin broke the dvd, i still have the program installed but cant play unless i have the dvd, how can i get around this

the way i did it is uninstall the game in stall it and say to put a shortcut on the desktop
