I am not referring to history of sites visited. I am referring to acutal history of searches made through a search history. I have hundreds in there, just completed internet course work, and want to clean up the files.

or perhaps you mean the search keywords? double click on the search box, highlight, and hold delete.

Tools Internet options clear history.

Go to tools in the search bar
then Internet Options
then delete history...
Presto! it's all gone...

go to internet explorer
go to
tools-->internet options
in general tab
you can find
clear history button, clear cookies button,delete files button
clikc on all
... you are done

hold ctrl and press H [ctrl+H] and delete the history...
