Turning 17 will mean that you're are still in your adolescent stage. You are neither here nor there. You're not a child anymore and yet, you're not a woman as Britney Spears sings. When you hit 20, then you would have arrived or hit a milestone. Until then, enjoy your youth and high school days can be so much fun.

You're a .little bit wiser and more matured now than at 16. It should get a little easier and your total outlook on life will improve. It entails a little more responsibility now that you are 17. Being 17 can still be a carefree life. Enjoy your youth and exuberance.

The age of 17 is an age of achievement. A lot of young athletes such as olympic ice skaters are about this age. It's also an age of responsibility. Teenage pregnancy usually occurs at this age. Avoid developing a steady and a serious relationship. Mingle and associate and just have clean fun with a lot of friends-boys and girls alike. No serious commitments so your future won't get jeopardized.

If you're a late bloomer, at age 17, you might have menarche or the start of menstruation. You have a monthly cycle of menstrual periods or bleeding. This capacity enables you to become pregnant and become a mother. But you are not ready for motherhood. It entails greater responsibilities and you would be robbed of your fun years.

Moreover, at the age of 17, there are many cases of eating disorders such as anorexia. Develop a healthy attitude towards foods. Don't strive for that perfect skinny body. Being skinny is not at all healthy and compromises your mind and mood swings and behavior.

Expect all of the above. But try to keep a moralistic and realistic attitude. Include God in your life. And ask Him for guidance.

My son just turned 17 and for some reason it hit him hard too! I think you know already that you have to be more careful in the way of girlfriends/boyfriends because your legal age now. Jail bait is the term I used. Also you are just a lot more responsible for your actions and choices. I used to say that you could be "tried as an adult" but they do that to kids younger and younger these days! I think really not much has changed for him. As long as your being a good kid you will be fine! Happy Birthday!

The day I turned 17, I gave blood, the first time I could do it. I had to bring a note from my mother. It was great. It was the first time I could save someone's life. I've done it regularly since then, and it continues to be a thrill, to know that I am a hero to someone I may never meet, whose life I've saved.
17 is whatever you make of it. I hope it is your best year ever!

when you turned 14., 15, 16, did you know what to expect? Nobody teaches us what to expect. I am 30, all I know is that some people feel old at this age, I just decided not to.

Here is what to expect; nothing. There is nothing about 17 that is unique unless someone makes it special for you. Granted, being 17 is fun, but there is no birthday fairy for this age.

If everything were easy in life, we would not learn from the mistakes that we make. Life would become boring to either be constantly happy or sad. Take each day and learn from it. You will not be able to repeat it again. Every day is different so that we may live each day to the fullest.

You´d better learn to take it easy ´cause you´ll hopefully begin to realize that life on this planet is ihabited by two kinds of beings:
1- those who suffer
2- those who deny it

Life is going to get progressively worse. It better! If that happens, life will get progressively better afterwards.

If it gets progressively better after 17, it will later get progressively worse soon after. The only way to avoid this problem is to suffer a bit. Get busy kid.
