Its hard to speculate, we'll see how they do first. Personally I think they are good moves. Meche is'nt this terrible pitcher everyone seems to think and considering what everyone else is getting paid, its not all that bad. Lets wait a little before we judge the moves.

Its risky when you spend 55 million for a pitcher, but the market is overpriced and you have to spend that kind of money to get reasonable talent. Burgos had an awesome arm but he just couldn't control it. Good riddance. Cisco needed about 2 more years to develop and I don't think he'll do very much.

Dayton Moore is really tweaking the lineup for a young team with a couple vets. I just wish that we could find a shortstop for Berroa. I mean seriously, is it a crime to find someone that can field AND bat?

Mike Sweeney is a great guy and did some wonderful things for KC but its time to say good-bye. I think that if we stick to Grudzielanek as our experienced veteran and use Sweeney as a part-time DH, we'll have a nice lineup.

I was very surprised that they broke open the piggy bank after years of crying broke. I think they overpaid for some of the talent and will be trading them away in a year or 2, if things don't work out.

They seriously overpaid for Meche. More curiously, they gave up young bullpen arms such as MacDougal, Sisco and Burgos and replaced them with veteran retreads like Dotel and Riske. Why the hell would they want those two guys?

The Gil Meche signing may go down as the worst in MLB history.
