I have a friend who worked for the job service and then went on her own training women in construction. Since many were single moms, it was life altering for them. They could finally hope to work their way ahead.
I think being an electrician is a great job for women. I used to like to do plumbing. We need more small plumbers who fit in tight spaces.

Women can be just as capable and in some ways more capable in certain construction trades. Electrical being one, this takes a lot of patience and women in general have more patience than men at times. But for construction that requires heavy lifting or hard labor, I don't think most women are capable of these kinds of trades. Women are built different than a man. We don't have the upper body strength a man does. Women should do trades they are capable of and men do trades they are capable of. It's not a battle of wills, smarts. or muscles. It is what kind of work can we do well.
Good question, thanks...

Try try try. Maybe you're the exception to the rule. From my experience, women, for some reason, just can't grasp the concepts of electronics. I wish they could, because I work with a bunch of dudes and it would be great to have a few women around the shop to break things up a bit. We hire women when they apply, but they never last long. Maybe we just get under-qualified women. Good luck to you though!

A woman in the electrical field is no surprise to me. Women can learn as much, as fast and as easily as men. When it comes to upper body strength, coordination and the ability to think on your feet in a literal sense-to be able to transition from doing a part of your job one second and in the next be in the full mode of life-saving action, there is no comparison.

Women can do anything the set their mind to.We have to be smarter in somethings as we`re not as strong as men and that can get in the way on somethings we do.But then is where we have to put our minds in gear to get the job done.

Quite Frankly -- I am a Female with a non-traditional career choice too - - and I tend to think and hire those who pay better attention to details and measurements -- and they mostly are the Female Workers.
