Correction fluids such as Tippex will cover it up.
Correction tape is a better option as you get a flat finish and it is instantly dry but will show up more if it is a different white to your paper. Tombow and Pentel makes are good - the Tippex mouse is rubbish.
Pentel Micro Correct is a fluid with a fine tip which you have to press down and gently squeeze. This allows you to do pinpoint corrections. It is more expensive but cheaper in the long run as the valve in the tip does not allow air in to the bottle so the fluid never thickens up and is usable down to the last drop.
If it is fountain pen ink there is a double ended pen with a bleach out tip at one end and a special pen at the other end which will write over the bleach. You can find this at any stationers catering to schoolkids.

You take some paper - say the magic words - and hey presto!
It has turned into a blue pen.

Soak the thing in acetone until the ink is gone and then dry the paper. Of course this method will get rid of other ink too.

Well, there really is no way to make it perfect...but I think what Angry_Marsupial said would work, but if worst came to worst, you could always try liquid paper. (I know, not very helpful)
