I certainly hope it is not fake. I love basketball but when the referees have a hand in if a team is going to win or not, well why bother cheering for your team?

The commissioner made the refs untouchable this year. They aren't held accountable and it's ruining the game. They should go back to the way it used to be when they let the players decide the games.

Basketball referees, like the rest of us, are imperfect. Most work the games with integrity, however and are not out to favor one team or the other. A bad call just increases the size of the obstacle that a team must overcome. When you beat a good team and a few bad calls as well, the victory is all the more meaningful.
Please remember that refs are not obligated to call an even number of fouls and violations per team in a game. It can seem that a ref "has it in" for a certain team, when that team is simply playing sloppily.
In my opinion, as a coach and a fan, that the basketball community spends too much time complaining about calls.

For me, it just adds a little something extra when my team wins in spite of how bad the reffing is - i'd rather cheer for the underdogs who just can't get a break, than the favored team who looks like they bought the refs.
