Yes. When I went to a psychiatrist I would always write in advance and try to focus on the main thing I wanted to deal with for the appointment. This helps tremendously to sort out the trivial from the major. And I would ask or discuss whatever the main thing I was troubled about at that time.
You have the right to direct what you want feedback about.
Good luck.

I have found that in my life many of the small, "unimportant" things actually have had a major effect on me. When I started to think back to times that seem small to me, I realized those things actually made me who I am today. Both good and bad. A lot of times, if it wasn't for the small stuff, there would be no big stuff! Remember, it was the straw that broke the camal's back.

In order for a person to really know something about someone, one should tackle things bit by bit, that way you get alot of information about the background of a persons life. Once you know that background, everything falls into place like a giant jigsaw puzzle, and you then see the full picture once you're finished. Let me know if this answered your question.

Tell your psychiatrist you want to talk about bigger things. And don't come in with, "This happened to me today..." kind of things. Try and think about what your biggest fear is, your biggest dream, the worst part of your childhood, things like that, and go in with those.
