The only magic is in the way we feel. There are no super normal abilities in life. Just an occasional fortuitous circumstance.

A proven way to gain magical abilities.....Great question!
I, for one, happen to believe that we all posess magical
abilities as part of our supernatural conciousness, or soul,
or whatever you want to call it. That each and every one
of us concieves of such things is proof positive that its well
within our capacity to sprout wings and fly, communicate
telepathically, travel through time, ect. If such things were
purely imaginary, we wouldn't ALL posess them from a very
early age. So the real question becomes, "Why do we not
utilize these abilities?" This is closely allied with that other
question, "What is reality, anyway?" Is an idea not a reality
of its own? If we are to exist in that realm of infinite possibility,
such things are only as real as we believe them to be. Or
to say it another way, it is the lack of faith in our own ability
which prevents us from utilizing these gifts of ours. To a child,
the monsters under the bed are as real as anything else until
we tell them otherwise. At the same time, we tell them that
they can't see the future, or move objects with the mind alone.
Perhaps if we could instead instill within a young child the
complete and total faith in these abilities, instead of doubt,
we would see that anything is possible. Or else maybe we
are not that highly evolved yet......

yea...you could have 'magical abilities'...if you enhanced your genetic structure...
you could even gain magical abilities by designing a suit.....similar to the suit of 'gordon freeman' the character from the famous video game 'half life' in pop culture and modern mythology...
Such a suit would have strong fibers that would allow you to run incredibly fast, jump really high and be able to in many ways...perform supernatural feats...similar to something like spiderman....think of a machine that would enhance your natural movements so you would run at 60 mph, but really feel like nothing...it would be like a video game yet you could perform all these supernatural feats...just by having an 'eskoskeleton' that would enhance your abilities.
You could have ejectors in the suit that would allow you to shoot fire from your 'gloves'...
however, magic, as much as you want it to exist, does not exist.
But you can make things sufficiently 'stylish' and advanced that it will seem like magic and you would not know the difference...especially with the increase in recurrence of machine/human interfaces...I think its only a matter of time before you will be able to hook into a machine and control it as if it were you.

Of course, but it requires much patience. Start your quest by setting up a room that can be totally empty and dark except for a single candle in the middle of the far wall opposite the door. Enter the room naked and sit on the floor in front of the lit candle. Close your eyes but focus on the candle flame. Now in your deepest voice begin to hummmmmmmmmmmm. After some practice you will begin to enter the realm of peaceful magic and you will know you have achieved your goal when you realize you are floating above the floor and no longer sitting on it.

You cannot obtain any magical powers, realistically speaking. However, in the religion Buddhusm, once you are enlightened-you have reached a state of complete peace and have rid yourself from all want-you become almost one with the earth. You have no need for any physical necesities and you have reached a level that is above that of a normal human.
I'm a Catholic, but I'm just telling you what is believed to be a fact for that religion.

You need to start with the special magic diet...4 parts lucky charms and 10 parts vodka. After the diet kicks in, you should start to feel slightly magical. At this time, grab the closest broom and try flying out of the highest window you can find. Once you take flight, there's no stopping you. Start throwing magic fire balls out of your hands onto passer-bys below. I love magic. If this doesn't work for you, try playing dungeons and dragons with your friends on Friday nights. I heard this will give you magic abilities too.

When you worship the true God you will be taught by the Holy Spirit of these things, you will lay your hands on people and they will be healed you will cast out demons you will understand other languages you will be given gifts of knowledge and speak in tongues....God is real and wants to work through those who are open to this kind of supernatural calling. The power will not be yours but God's working through you READ THE BIBLE about the gifts of the Spirit. I have had many dealings with supernatural power through God . It is real but you need to live a clean life and desire these things purely for them to be given to you.I'll pray you have eyes to see and ears to hear. one last thing: God puts the desires of the heart in place. Seek Him and believe he has a purpose for someone who will not be timid in belief. I am not crazy I have seen these things. (I am not part of a cult either)check out Patricia King on-line she is a Christian that deals with the supernatural power of God in his people and has on-line video clips...you are bound to see something of interest!

That stuff in the movies is metaphor for familiar, real abilities & magics we already have and which are cooler than any of that stuff.
