From a business and marketing point-of-view YES. Trump is media smart and was looking down the road. Tara's tearful remorse, covered by international media will likely give the next Miss USA competition it's highest ratings as a huge audience will be there to see the rehabilitated Tara speak and turn over the crown to whoever wins. Trump's show "The Apprentice" airs in mid-January and will likely have an increased audience due to this Tara incidence. If the higher ratings do come to pass then Conners will have rewarded his decision to let her keep the title. It may not be morally right but this was likely business.

Miss USA is considered a role model, and Tara Conner's conduct must reflect that. Mr Trump's "you're-NOT-fired" decision changes the ideals set for future Miss USA. Within this context i feel "second chance" is hypocritical.

i feel that giving miss america a second chance is in essence saying that excessive drinking is an ideal that the miss america pageant will tolerate, without sanctioning by removing the title.
i also believe it will give rise to a racial controversy since vanessa williams was dethrowned and not given a second chance. it sends the message that the white population can be forgiven for tansgressions, but not the black.

Hi Maribgirl !!!

Of course !!!! The best way that you can convince yourself of this is ; asking yourself. Would you like to have second chances at things in life????

Every body should have a second chance on everything because, the first time is actually just for us to learn!!!

Some times second chances given to people even have a tremendous impact, and help us do our best.

I know I will love to have my second chances, and my thirds too!!! Why not???
Good luck, GOD BLESS YOU

MERRY CHRISTMAS & HAPPY NEW YEAR

NOOOO..........I totally agree with Rosie on this. Donald is a idiot. Do you think he would be protecting her if it was his daughter ? She was seen in clubs (UNDER AGE) drunk, high on drugs, kissing other woman, being provocative with many men. That is not a role model for young girls,,, and if she gets away with this it`s like telling the young girls it is OK to act like this. Our younger generation has enough problems with their morals and ethics as it is .Just cuz Rosie is a public figure she shouldn`t be condemned for speaking her mind when what she is saying is true just because she is speaking out against D.T. His life hasn`t actually been REAL moral where does he get off getting to be a judge for morality.

To me its not about second chances. 20 is not exactly a child , there are plenty younger than her in Iraq fighting. She and Trump have set a precedent. not good. And her crying on national tv. What a baby. She is playing it for all its worth. When you see what most or a good portion of celebrities do and get away with , well she is no Little innocent. And Trump ???????????who knows.

No, why change the rules, is it because of Donald Trump. Vanessa Williams didn't get a second chance, she's all the better for it, great actress.

No. She knew the rules going in. when you are crowned you become an instant role model and you are PAID for that honor. If you don't respect the system don't get involved just because you have nothing better to do with your selfish life.

In order to get a second chance, she's now expected to be a hyprocrite and talk about how horrible it is to do things she loves to do (which may or may not be legal).
