I think the gov't should legalize brothels create a red light district similar to the one in Amstradam. These brothels should be regulated ofcourse. Use of condoms and mandatory testing for HIV and other sexual transmitted has to be enforced by the operators of the brothels, The sex workers would pay income tax and this new tax dollars can be spent on providing social services. Make it illegal for hookers to be on the city streets forcing them to work in government regulated brothels were its clean and save. The sex trade can be recognized as a legitimate profession and Prostitutes would be have a pension, even collect, unemployment insurance if they lose their job. Also,it would probably increase Canada's lacking tourism industry.

This country likes to claim it was founded on Christian morals etc., but since homosexuals are allowed to marry that blows that theory all to h#ll. Would be a good idea to set up Brothels and take allot of the crime committed around it out of the picture.I see nothing wrong with it.As far as saying it demeans woman , you can add men to the menu as well and provide the female "john" with an outlet. o when the info is all collected hopefully common sense will prevail.
