I don't know how it's related to the movie, but baba ghanoush is a Middle Eastern food. It's an eggplant paste that is often spread or used as a dip with pita bread. In addition to eggplant, it usually includes tahini (sesame paste), garlic, lemon juice, and spices.

Babba Ganoush and Bagels
When comedians Steve R Trister and Martin Brody finished drama school, they had little doubts about their inspiration for their next project - themselves.
“We devised Babba Ganoush and Bagels in the four or five weeks after we left drama school to take up to the Edinburgh Festival Fringe,” says Steve. “One of us is a Muslim and the other a Jew and we just expanded those characters and decided on a storyline.”

It's a meditteranean food - a lot like hummus. I think it's made of chick peas. You eat it with a sort of pita bread.
