If the place I work at is the only one that does this. It wasn't totally horrible, but I am frankly offended by it b/c I do a great job. I heard from a manager that they only give good reviews to those on the management track. And that to get a good review, I'd have to do work that is the job of the department head in addition to what I already do. I think they are not judging me by what I do, b/c I do everything in my job description. Are there other companies that do this?

It was tied to a raise and a bonus. I get smaller amounts w/ the review that I had. But the funny part is I was hired near the top of the pay scale, so if I were to work there for any length of time more than a couple of years my pay will hit the top of the scale and then no more raises anyway.

I dont think now-a-day big company can afford to do that, its discrimination of some sort. I work for a big retail who just join another kind big retail. in my job, they dont say it like that but one of the reason they dont give people good reviews' cuz they'd have to give you a raise.
