What does the fact that it is a "son" have anything to do with teaching a child, male or female responsibilities? You are a complete sexist based on your question alone..."female chores". Your mother ought to spank your butt! LOL
My husband and I have two children, a boy and a girl, and yes they BOTH do chores around the house. Chores are not female or male, meaning anyone can do them. Think about it...one day our son will be out on his own, college and so on up until marriage. Well, hopefully learning how to do his own laundry and dishes and in general clean up after himself will save him from becoming a complete slob. There is no reason a male is incapable of doing these things. My husband is a manly man,but he also helps around the house. It is not beneath him to throw a load of clothes in the wash or do dishes or any other responsibility around the house. Any real man should be able to take care of himself and his personal belongings...they won't always have their mommy or a wife to do it for them.
Now with that said....go clean your dishes and wash your clothes!! :-D

I don't think that washing dishes and laundry are "female chores", they are just chores!! My step son does those things to earn his allowance and my husband does those thing to help out around the house! There are no such thing as male and female chores....they are all just work that needs to be done!

Since when are those female chores?? If you are living alone, you don't do your laundry and dishes because you are a guy? I didn't realize people in the world still thought like that!

I have two sons. One is 22 the other is 20. They both know how to do laundry, dishes, cook, and clean house. When they get married their wives will thank me for that. I was married to a guy who only felt he needed to do the outside man stuff. When both husband and wife work it is nice to share the jobs around the house inside and out. Also, if you are not married but living on your own, it is a big help to yourself if you know how to do all that stuff. A girl really likes a guy who can help around the house and not just the manly stuff. My 22 yr old son is in the army and has served a year in Iraq. He is very manly but still helps around the house without complaining.

I had two sons and two daughters. When old enough each child did their own laundry. Each child planned, made, served and cleaned up the dishes from a meal. By treating all chores equally my children were better able to fend for themselves on their own.

First, those aren't "female jobs" My neighbor does the laundry, and he also does the dishes. I would say is multi- gender chores. and yes, I would make my son do the chores.

Excuse me, FEMALE chores?
So, when he moves out on his own the dish and laundry fairy is going to show up and do it for him?
Better to learn that stuff at home then spend your life eating off crud covered dishes while wearing pink underwear, don't you think?

Absolutely! He will need to know how so he can teach some woman to do it for him later.
Seriously, it is important for all genders to do all kinds of chores. They are part of becoming a well rounded and responsible person. Gender specific chores are a thing of the past.

Yes. And I did teach my son all this and much more. So he don't have to depend on a woman to do it. He once asked me why I didn't buy a dishwasher? I said I already have a dishwasher. He said very funny moma. It still gets a laugh no that he is grown and got a family of his own. When his son gets big enough he will be learn the same way.

Those are not just female chores men and boys can do them too. But the laundry he could do his own and all he would have to do is unload and load the dishwasher.
