God yes!!! It scares the bejeasus out of me every time I think about it.

Consider that you have no idea who is driving this bus!!!

I mean really, you and I are hurtling through space at some 40,000 miles per hour spinning around and around and the ozone is leaking into outer space and we are all in a terrible fix if someone doesnt put a big bandaid over the leaky spot. Oh God,
what are we going to do???

Sometimes I think I need to go to bed right this minute, and pull the covers way up over my head.

When I go outside I am very careful to stay under cover in case something falls out of the sky and hits me. Even airplanes are falling out of the sky these days for all kinds of reasons, so you just never know when one might hit you.

Yep. There is a tiny atmospheric layer and a system of gas exchange and feedbacks that we really don't understand that well. There's systems of plants which we have changed drastically, a small amount of freshwater water coming from a largely saline sea.

It fascinates me. It is the point of doing science. In my opinion protecting the planet is above all ways, a way of leaving something for future generations. It worries me that government and the media are not more tuned into environmental problems - maybe now decisions about using natural resources have to be made which fly in the face of existing commercial interests.

This is what sometimes scares me. Can you imagine George Bush engaging in an unedited conversation with an astronaut who had just come back from experiencing these scene you have described? It doesn't happen. It's not the fact of our existence that scares me, but the fact that we put so much effort into missing the point.

We aren't floating, though. We are being constantly pulled by the gravitational force of the sun, and falling to the side at the same time. That's how we orbit around the sun. There is no just floating. Everything is scientific.

I'm not floating...

The trick is that you have to learn to balance yourself so you won't fall off the blue ball...

Did you ever see a hamster on the treadmill thing in his cage or a logger rolling a tree trunk down a river? It's sort of the same thing... you stay on the blue ball and keep it going around and around...

After I read VT The Eternities by A Parthasarathy and then studied it.

My wonder and joys in Physics increased my fears lessened and I stopped needing to live on other people's opinions. I understand the nature of world and it's contents better. I have more 'wonder' and definitely less fear.

I fall asleep within 15 seconds of my head hitting the pillow and I am much better in helping my clients to help themselves.

Many things are man-made and controlled, but the tiny blue ball has been programmed to rotate/spin/float until.......well it is a secret known only by God and the angels.

Not at all. It may be tiny, but it's a heckuva lot bigger than me. I am scared however, of some of the other inhabitants of this tiny blue ball.

I get more scared when I think about the fact that there's a dimension where monsters have a city powered by the screams of children. And these monsters sneak into our dimension through closet doors and enjoy making these children scream.
