Hard to judge sometimes, but I was very close to my now-deceased grandmother.... I could talk to her in a way I could not talk to my own mother.

Absolutely not. I don't have a very nice grandmother. It's sad but I sometimes can't even say hi to the woman.

Hell no.
I can't spend an hour alone with my grandmother.
I can barely spend an hour and half with my own mother.
I don't hate them, we get along fine. I'm just too different in opinion and action.

No, I love my mother more for she gave me life. Yes, I still love my grandma even though she passed away this year & always will.
