I have to say, I'm somewhere in between. I wear basically whatever I want, usually Hollister, AE, or Abercrombie. That might be preppy as some say...but I'd say Lacost, Polo, and Express are more on the preppy side.

It all depends

The clothing itself dosent really matter much.

What it represents can cause problems.

Some people will use clothing to label people. This is especially true in k-12 where kids always feel the need to be in a cliq or fit in.

if your in k-12 it sucks, clothing creates drama

once you get out of highschool it dosent matter as much
its still a status thing. I mean mullet and a dirty t shirt sends a much different message from a crew cut and business suit.

Overall I wouldnt worry about it, just wear what you want. Youll find people who understand and theyll be the ones that will matter. :D

Not to sound corny here, but I don't hate someone based on the type or brand of clothing they wear. Some people try to say all preps are b*tches, that all emos are depressing, that those that wear the "black" brands like baby phat are ghetto, etc. and those things are not true. Those are just stereotypes. I personally like to mix different style genres. I had on American Eagle jeans the other day with a baby phat shirt. Would that make me a ghetto prep? lol I don't get the whole generalizing based on clothing brand thing.

I have many emo friends, who wear their emo clothes... I let them be especially the cute guys, don't tell my boyfriend. I do hate people who wear 'preppy' clothing in order to fit in. That's stupid and you're lying to yourself... I wear whatever I want, in decency. AE and Hollister is alright... I personally don't like them because all the kids who wear their clothes are walking billboards. I shop at Zumiez and stuff.

Nah. I positioned on the same element, from a warm topic screamo blouse to a floral gown to even if. you're getting into your man or woman man or woman and forgetting all that prime college stuff about diverse sorts and this and that, you basically needa slowly get comfortable with it. human beings WILL communicate and speculate, yet human beings continually will and that's difficult to ward off. usually, you're flavor is massive spread that's good, reason some are very discriminatory to different kinds of a few thing basically because their social team says so. that's dumb

I think it's a waste of time to hate anybody for what they wear! Live and let live. What is rather disgusting is people who are dirty or sloppy, but even then they may have a reason for that.

I think people should be allowed to wear whatever makes them happy. Maybe people dislike what you wear? Just wear what you like, and stop worrying about everyone else. These are just my thoughts!
My happy thoughts!
