I detest slogan type names. It's makes me sick to my stomach. Freedom tower. It's an insult to anyone with a brain. It was like when the congressional cafeteria changed the name of French Fries to Freedom Fries when the French wouldn't go along with the madness of invading Iraq. This has nothing to do with Freedom, and everything to do with the erosion of Freedom.

What a scam on the American people. It's called the Freedom Tower because it is free to the owners of the property and is being paid by us, the stupid American people. The Twin Towers were insured for 15 billion each just months before they were destroyed by our own government by allowing the planes to fly into them when we knew months in advance they were going to do it. They were losing money for the owners of the property and over 3000 lives were sacrificed by letting them be destroyed so the owners could reap the big profits from the insurance companies. Read "The New Pearl Harbor" and decide for yourself. Ground zero is a unfortunate joke on the American people and it should be remembered as step one for George W Bush's personal war for oil for the profit of his friends and big business.

its a terrible thing that happened on 9/11/01 and it still angers me deeply.those who died should have a memorial to honor them and also those who have fallen since and those who will fall in the future, but building another huge building and calling it the freedom tower wont change the fact that our government got caught with their pants down and as far as I'm concerned the jury is still out on how they may have been involved and the mess they have created since.to many questions have been left unanswered and to many answers have been questioned.and to all who have lost their loved ones i an so profoundly sorry and my heart gos out to you all for the failings of our government present and past and the ignorant and arrogant stupidity that has been displayed since.may god bless you all, amen.

It's a big mistake! Trump is right about rebuilding the Towers, only taller. You could build the Freedom Tower somewhere else perhaps, but it wouldn't have the impact or make the same statement that rebuilding does to the enemies that attacked our country that fateful day.

I think it's a great way to remember and pay tribute to those that were lost. Let's be realistic: This is Real Estate in Manhattan--the most valuable property in the world! Something was going to be built there eventually.

It's alright.

I would have prefered they simply rebuilt the towers the way they were before, only stronger and one floor higher. That would have been the ultimate act of defiance.

I'm all for it! The more crazy, Islamic nut-jobs knock our buildings down, the faster they should be replaced and the higher they should go. It's a fitting tribute to those who lost their innocent lives that day. The jihadists will never win!

I dont care. I think it took them long enough though.
A bunch of squabbling over the design like children about what would be best to remember.
What would have been best would be to build the same thing but better and stronger as a memorial to the unwavering spirit of the American people.

Just another way to make money off the memory of those who died on 9/11.

I can't help but think that it will be built upon a mass grave and that is a little unsettling.
