Are you trying to boot from a cd, or is there a cd in the cd-rom drive?

If not - then you may have one of the following problems...

1. Some files necessary for your machine to boot into Windows have gotten corrupted, and you may need to reinstall Windows

2. Your hard drive has failed (or is failing) and you need to put in a new one, then reinstall Windows.

Have you tried ringing the company you bought the PC from for some support from them - especially with regards to a recovery disk of some sort...

From the looks of your message, it seems that the system is looking for a boot device. When the system POST's, or if you go into BIOS (CMOS) does it show a detected Hard Drive? If you can boot to a command prompt with a system disk then you can run some disk utilities like CHKDSK on the Hard Drive and then see if it comes back with anything. It isn't uncommon for Hard Drives to go bad unexpectantly - especially eMachines. Not that they are bad, but sometimes I think they use "cheap" materials. Hope this helps...

Try rebooting the pc and press the F8 key while it is booting. Select 'safe' mode and see if it boots then.
Then do the restore to an earlier point.
If you have Norton anti-virus cd, you can also boot from that.

There's prolly a virus in her computer or something to that affect. You may need to do a system restore. Your computer should have a built in system restore. Try rebooting your computer and hold down CTRL and keep pressing F8.

If your computer is not working properly while you are working on it, it could be a problem with device drivers, hardware or software.
