the cable line from the wall will hook to the cable modem. Then you will hook the ethernet cord from the back of the computer to the wireless router. Nothing will need to be hooked to the laptop if it has a built in wireless antenna.

Cable from wall connects to cable port on Modem. Modem connects to router with a cat5 patch cord.

Connect laptop or pc to one of the switch ports on the router to configure the router.

Follow instructions that came w/ router:

1) setup router as dhcp server
2) setup wireless adptr as dhcp client
3) choose ssid for your network (can be anything)
4) setup same ssid on wireless adptr

5) secure wireless - don't broadcast ssid & atleast use a wep key for the connection
6) setup same wep key in advanced setting for wireless adptr

hope this helps...
