Kevin Nash once said in an interveiw that Monday Night Raw (or just Raw) should be called Monday Night Contrived, because it is so easy to tell it's scripted and you can tell that all of the wrestlers were told what to say and what to do more than they did during the Monday Night Wars. One of the reasons is becaus Vince McMahon and Eric Bishoff were so determined to one up each other that they gave alot of the wrestlers (such as The Rock, Kevin Nash, Scott Hall, Steve Austin, Triple H, Hollywood Hulk Hogan, Bret Hart, Shawn Michaels, and others) independence to really say what they want to say and do the script in their own way, and that what made Raw and Nitro so exciting and enjoyable to watch. Nowadays it's bland and is more like watching a movie than anything else. I really hope that at some point both the WWE and TNA realize that is what the fans want and there are wrestlers in both organizations (not including ones already listed) that can have that independece and sell there act

Wrestlers like Randy Orton, AJ Styles, CM Punk, RVD, Edge, John Cena (yes, even him), Samoa Joe, Kurt Angle, Christian Cage, Jeff Hardy, Mr. Kennedy, Shelton Benjamin, and others can handle having the independence to say what they want and do want they want within the concept of the script because they can all handle that independce. I really think if both the WWE and TNA do that they will be better off for it and people who stoped watching will start watching again. What do you think?

I know it's ALL scripted DME B. I have been watching wrestling for 15 years. What I was saying is that while everything is scripted during the Monday Night Wars alot of the wrestlers in both organizations were given the script and told to do it their own way but to make it happen like what was in the script. That is what I am talking about.

Vince Russo may have been one of the causes for the fall of WCW whatisthis, but he was also the person who really came up with most of what made the WWF "Attitude Era" so sucessful because he was the head writer and he created the character of The Rock, Stone Cold Steve Austin, and the group Degeneration X, so without Russo WWF might have lost to WCW.

I have had opportunity to talk with several wrestling legends and the common thread that they have shared with me is the fact that back in the 70's, 80's and early 90's mic skills were part of the craft. Thinking on your feet was part of the job. It is something they really miss from the glory days. Russo is writing for TNA now and TNA is climbing the ratings slowly but surely. He seems to write what he needs to but then gives the wrestlers the freedom to make the charachter their own.

Vince seems to have a death grip on the writing at WWE and it continues to die a cold hard death. I love DX and many of the wrestlers at WWE but it is not the quality product it use to be.

WWE is too scripted... Vince has in his mind a particular "formula" for how promos should be done, wrestling ring style, etc. WWE has gotten complacent since they have been the only game in town. When you keep seeing the same things happening over and over, it gets boring. Every now and then they need to shake things up.

What happened to frequent title changes, or major titles changing during a regular show (not a PPV)? There's not much reason to expect anything major to occur during title matches on RAW and Smackdown, so those "main event" matches are pointless. It also works against them when they advertise to the outlets what the title matches are going to be for the PPVs so far in advance. If someone wins a title at a PPV, they aren't dropping it anytime soon. Would be nice to see people lose a title they just gained right after a PPV. It keeps you tuning in because you don't know if a title will be dropped or won. Way WWE is right now, there's no suspense.

And I agree... mic skills and promos are a dying art in the WWE. It seems Vince is caring more about the wrestler's looks/image (both men and women) and less if they can actually wrestle, or be able to connect with the crowd and develop their own character and style on the mic.

TNA isn't problem free, but I think for the most part they are doing better than WWE right now in terms of an on screen product, even before they got Russo. Russo will be trying to change things up and be controversal and everything, but I do wonder if he gets stuck in his own rut at times. VKM is so DX like... it could be tolerable, but trying to have them on this tangent against Vince and the WWE when nothing is going to come of it at all is pointless. LAX is a much better "anti-establishment" and "anti-authority" team that can shake things up.

Oh yeah DME B and i'm Stone Cold Steve Austin, shut up. yes everything is scripted because WWE has no good writers, and yes i do miss the days where they could speak their mind without it already being written for them. TNA is pushing it to WWE status and that's not good because it's the closest thing we have to the good ol WCW days and WWF in the late 80's and much of the 90's. Raw makes you think soap opera with a few matches, because WWE puts out maybe 6 matches within 2 hours that's it! TNA puts in 5 or 6 in 44 minutes how crazy. So TNA needs to watch it, well mostly they need to fire Vince Russo he is said to be the cause of the fall of WCW and he's the head writer now for TNA. Anyway yes the "Attitude"days and the "Nitro" days with times to cheerish in good ol wrestling

That is what screwed Bret Hart.Bret Hart was the WWF champion then and was given creative control and he refused to lose to HBK at Survivor Series, infont of his hometown,so Vince had to come up with something,Vince was worried that Bret might throw away the WWF championship in the trash can, that's why Vince had to screw Bret.Even if the wrestlers are allowed to change the script in their own way,Vince McMahon can always change it at the last minute.

great argument, wrestling fans should start realizing how horrible wrestling has become. Luckily I still have ROH which honestly can trick you into believing it's real by actually mixing reality and kayfabe, I think anyone who is tired of WWE just being nothing but wasted potential should start buying ROH dvds.

It's ALL scripted. Every single match, every single time.

Since you seem to know so much about it why ask?

Not really the way my friends tells it though. Every sequence is rehearsed.
