return, you hit it at the end of a tyoped line and then it moves the typing mechanism from the end of the first line to the beginning of the next line.

the only key is 1/4... 1/2 key..... that is the difference between a basic computer keyboard and a typewriter

As far as I know the return key is the same as the enter key....and all the keys from a standard typewriter are on a computer keyboard.

I'm not sure, but you may be looking for shift lock, its different from a PC's caps lock.
