I was thinking of getting a wii but i was wondering whether or not it could play gamecube games.

Yes, you can plug your old gc controllers into the top of it. Pretty nifty huh?

yes. redhead is an idiot. Don't listen to him nor the lady who claim you can play Xbox games on wii. what you can do is insert the cd and plug in your gamecube controller on the controller slot located on top of wii (you have to open the cover slot).

yes, it can play gamecube games, and you can also download older nintendo games off of the wii's internet thing (i can't remember what they call it).

Yes, gamecube games work on the wii but, of coarse, wii games will not work on the gamecube. I think I heard that X-box games might work on the Wii....
