Simple answer - the steam engine was developed there. Being British, Watt was well rewarded for improving his home country first. So the industrial revolution began in Britain. It didn't do the air quality of London any good though.

Britain had many colonies all over the world which lead them to be able to become more advanxe in things. The money they made also helped with trade which makes any country rich.

britain was then and still today still very advanced in lots of things. we had the best ship building sites the best iron sites,and some preety smart people on our side, we ruled the world, and maybe no we have slowed down a little still control a lot of it .........
