Your life is far from "set" at 29. I am 38 now and I am thinking of taking court reporting classes which would make me about 42 when I finish...far from retirement age. What I have done in the past is Real Estate, and legal office work. What I am trying to say is maybe you can take your nursing classes for now, then if you decide to change in the future, then don't ever think it's too late! Have fun with your decisions! Good luck.

Why can't you be a nurse? LOTS of parents in college- I was one of them. There are lots of support agencies, special scholarships for non-traditional students, etc. Maybe it would take you longer than before you had them, but you can do it and get it done. In fact, most professors PREFER non-traditional students, because they are more dedicated, pay better attentiona nd put more effort into their work, because they know how much you have riding on it. They are also more lenient - especially if a kid gets sick, etc. Most colleges even have a sick kids day care! (had to use it once during finals) They tend to be run by nurses.
Otherwise, be what you want to be. In my life I've been a newspaper photographer, insurance sales (that one sucked), hotel desk clerk, school bus driver, nanny, High school teacher for High Risk students, Museum docent and historical interpreter.
The last one is the one I plan to stick with - but it took me until I was 35 -yes, 35 - to truly find what I want to do - to combine education and teaching with history and crafting.
The journey has been worth it, but you have to be willing to take the risks.
Go for it!!

Being a nurse is a great calling. It requires extensive training and education. You already have a great calling. Being the best mom to your 2 kids. There is no greater reward than raising 2 children to be the best they can be and happy. I am sure you will find a career that will afford you the best balance to raise your 2 kids. Best of Luck and Merry Christmas, Happy Hanuka and Happy Kwanza to you and your children.

Well...even tho I'm only 17 and male...I can only suggest to what you can do...
FOLLOW YOUR HEART...your heart is wiser than your brain of what you want to do...
If you want to become nurse while busy your schedule around kids...then perhap it would be good thing to start takin' courses at community college (save your $$ and prepare you two years before transfer to university where you want to study become nurse)...
Plus, community college courses don't required you to graduate on time...as long as you EVENTUALLY graduate and whenever you are ready to transfer to university...you know???
Also, be sure your husband is support you with that...cuz you might need help with kids u know???
Yeahh...well that's all I guess...at least follow your heart...whether you shld do it now or later...alrite?
Hope it helps! :)
Peace

It's not WHAT you do, but HOW you do it.
So, whatever you do, don't define what you're doing, just do it with your full attention.
If a nurse is in the cards, it will happen. Until then just be present with every little thing you do.
