it started out as a rock band playing and then somehow it transformed them in to animatin, and they were always trying to get home for some reason i remeber bubbles i guess they traveled in them. If you remember please let me know.

Nope the main charecter was a male. it wasn't those cartoons this started out as a actual people who were sucked inot something and turned into cartoon

May not be much of a help. The only cartoon that I can think of wasn't produced in the 80's. More like the late 60's and was "The Yellow Submarine" yes based off the Beatles music. It had them at the end not at the begining. Likewise it wasn't a series. Sorry.
