I think the woman has a guilty conscience and is trying to play him like it was his indescretion, when in all actuality it was hers.

I'm an Iraq War veteran too, so I know how hard it is for your husband to be away (and also how hard it is on you too). But besides reading the dribble, why did you marry him again? I don't understand why you would want to marry a person whose first inclination is about the money he'll be making? Honestly I didn't read the whole thing because it seems too long. Pretty much like this, if you don't love him get a divorce. If you do love him try to work it out and go to counseling. Either way, the base you live at or near has marriage counseling (and you can go by yourself if you want) or speak to a chaplain. I think you have already put two strikes in the marriage and you've only been with him two years. If your not happy and you don't love him then get a divorce and it'll be easier on you and him. If you do then wait till he gets back and try counseling. I don't think you being resentful and bringing up all this past stuff helps much. You should talk to him about your feelings and maybe see if some kind of common understandings can be reached. Good luck.

I think the woman should take a deep breath - then realize that duty in Iraq doesn't leave much time for "playing around." However, there's enough females in the theater for those that want to play. If the man sincerely says he didn't then the wife needs to have enough trust to believe the man.

p.s. sometimes women who have something to hide strike first....The couple needs to sit down, go through the anxieties caused by military family separation, and talk everything out. It's a tough time that only military families can understand. Get past the anger of the husband having had to deploy, and strive towards building the relationship back to where it was before the deployment.

Good luck

I have heard alot of cases like this, and its not going to be the last. Honestly there are men in Iraq cheating on their wives with other soldiers, man or woman, and they go online to dating websites and cheat that way, like religious dating sites,or sites no one in all reality knows about unless they are researching, not so reputable dating websites.
I highly doubt she wants to think of you,or the person as a cheater, most likely she is paranoid.Ease her tension and your's,and you can also tell her,the last thing on your mind while in Iraq is a hook up when your so afraid for you life.

On the face of it, the woman seems to be quite insecure in the relationship, perhaps about herself.

On the other hand, it would not be the first time a man had been away to war and had returned as an unfaithful spouse. Nor would it be the last.

Being on the outside, we cannot judge. Either she's bonkers or she's right.

difficult situation indeed. i think both husband and wife should cool down and talk it over. the main issue here is that the wife is scared that his working in Iraq will cause him to ultimately cheat and the more her husband is away, the more doubtful she gets of him because she can't see him everyday. it's normal since he is her husband and she wants to see him everyday if possible... THIS i'm sure is the MAIN issue, not whether he's cheating or not... she just wants him to spend more time with her...

the only answer? communication. they haven't been communicating since both are always separated. the husband comes back tired all the time and doesn't want to talk. the wife wants to talk desperately and construes that her husband doesn't want to talk because he's hiding something. SO, get both of them to talk! it's IMPERATIVE!!! gd luck :)

Well, they say that those that are guilty push what they are guilty of unto others. Maybe counseling to get through it would be a good idea and if you are not both open to it, then move on. Life is too short to live in misery.
