I was a soldier. Don't meet him. Soldier's don't have a clue. They lead pointless and retarded lives giving all their brain cells to Uncle Sam. You'll never be with him cuz he'll always be gone. Besides, meeting people from online is ridiculous. I know we are all searching, but come on, what do we really want? A good lay? An everlasting friend? Those you won't find here. Those you meet in person at places and become friends with. Go out with friends and pickup guys. Easier to see what they are really about.

I would make sure your first meeting is in a very public place. You can never be too careful. Many people may seem to be thing on line but be another in person. Make sure you let someone know where you plan on meeting and do NOT vary from that, have this person call your cell every hour to check in with you. As far a places to go.... a coffee house or a restaurant for the first date would be sufficient

The worst thing in life to live with is regret. You obviously have vested interest in meeting this guy or you wouldn't have offered to meet him.
However, there is a serious risk factor given the anonymity of the Internet. I suggest that you meet him in a public place and bring a friend. If he has honest intentions then he won't care.
Remember no matter how well thing seem to be going you should stay in the safety of your friends and the general public.
I think you can meet new people safely, just be smart about it.

Never meet anyone in person that you met online without taking a friend along with you. Make it is in a very open public place with a lot of people. If he likes you and really would like to meet you face to face, he will not mind you bringing a friend along. If he has a problem with that, then you need to to re-think this. Be safe, not sorry.

Well first of all why did you have to mention he was an African-American? What was the point? I just met a man from online but I made sure I found out where he worked and met him in populated area after telling friends and family where I'd be and told them how long I'd be gone and conducted myself in a fashion that did not indicate anything I didn't want him to interpret. Such as, kissing him when he asked me to. Online dating can be dangerous but many have died at the hands of lovers and husbands that they have met in conventional ways also and we tend to forget that. I really hope you find true love but please be very careful with anyone you meet and remember that that Micheal Richards issue hasn't quite died down yet.

NO No No Just meet him in a public place and take someone with you. Then only then if he is what you expected go out with him for a date. Now he probably is great but use your head and be careful, I have friends that met people online and have successful relationships.

Meet him in a public place and get to be friends in the "real world" first before going anywhere alone with him. Go to some fun dates first around other people before you shack up with him. He's more than likely alright, and you'll know from the first dates whether there's any red flags.

Me thinks it wise if you meet with him during the daytime at a place serving coffee/tea/soda etc... Maybe bring a friend!
It is too easy to turn up missing if you meet during the evening hours at a club or something like that.
Be very carefull! You do not really know him yet!

Are you saying you have already met him? Can you get another couple to double date with you? Maybe you and your friends could meet him at a restaurant? This way you will at least have someone along if he isn't as "kind" as you think he is. If you have never met him, then don't go. Just too dangerous!!!!!!!!

You really know nothing about him and you are putting yourself in a dangerous situation. If you MUST meet him then I'd go with friends and to a public place. Don't give him your address.
