"4 questions: Cellular respiration and germinating seeds.... 1) do germinating seeds exchange gases with their enviorment? if so which gas is taken in and which gas is given off by the seeds? 2) what process are the seeds carrying out? why? 3) from where does the seed get glucose molecules to break down? 4) once the seed germinates and ges its first green leaves. from where will it get glucose molecules?"

1. They exchange gases with the soil surrounding it.
Oxygen is taken in and Carbon dioxide is released.

2. Respiration. The oxygen is being used to help produce the ATP needed to fuel the growth and activity of the cells. Carbon dioxide is given off as a by product.

3. From the endosperm of the seed. Also the food stored up in the seeds cotyledons.

4. These green leaves will carry on photosynthesis and produce the sugar.

All cells respire...it would not count number no matter if it ought to germinate or not by way of the indisputable fact that is a cellular it takes in oxygen and provides you out carbon dioxide so the answer is that all cells respire that's why there replaced into equivalent quantities oxygen used and carbon dioxide produced

1. yes they do exchange gases with their environment. They take in oxygen and release carbon dioxide.

2. they are carrying out cellular respiration (also called diffusion).

3. The original glucose molecules are stored in the seed itself.
(thats why nuts and seeds are so caloric)

4. after germination it will get its glucose though a process
called photosynthesis.
