You don't NEED a computer in your room to talk to your friends. Some of us grew up in a time when there were no computers, and no internet, and we still had friends.

I know you're going to hate to hear this, and as someone who desperately does not want to admit to being old, I hate to say it:

I'm with your mom on this one. You know you got a C, and if you go ahead and tell her now, she's not going to punish you NEAR as bad as she would if you lied. Trust me, I've been there!

And if you're spending 12 hours a day on the internet instead of studying math, yeah, the computer needs to be out of your room, or else your internet needs to be disconnected. That's way too much of a distraction to you right now. Unless you want to end up like a friend of mine who just flunked out of college playing World of Warcraft 12 hours a day.

And if you just lost NJHS, you just lost a bunch of college money that your parents are going to have to pay now, so they're going to be upset. Rightly so. It's time you took responsibility for your actions.

I always hate it when people patronize me on yahoo answers, but now find that I'm about to do that to you.
You say your math grades are failing, and you are online 12 hrs a day talking to friends. I hate to say it, but it does seem to be very similar. And no matter how hard your teacher or school is, you shouldn't be getting C's at this point in school. Since you are, be glad that you can learn from it when it won't affect your life later on.
My advice is to tell her that you are doing badly in math, and then try and find out what you did wrong- and ask your math teacher to help- math isn't a subject in which you just do badly in, there is a legitimate reason. However, since its break and you won't have much to do workwise, I'd say study math outside of your room, where your mom can see you, and how hard you are working, and then maybe make a rule for yourself- for every 15 min you spend on math you get the other 45 to spend on whatever you want (I did the same thing today and finished a 12 page outline for my science exam). Other excuses would to be that you need it for work, or maybe ask that you are allowed to keep it as a Christmas present- whatever, just ammend your ways.
But even my school isn't as much as a hard-***; if you get two c's in a semester you get on academic probation, and if by the next semester you are still failing you get expelled.
But, as an experienced "fabricator", lies eventually catch up with you.

Maybe if you WEREN'T online over half the day you wouldn't have gotten a C. Consider the logic in that statement.

If you do get to keep your computer, limit it to two or three hours maximum a day. Even that much is detrimental to your eyesight and memory. Just work your way down.

If not, it's really only for the best. Either way, try getting your grade up next semester by trying tutoring or extra credit. Don't let yourself get kicked out of school, and don't lie! Trust is a delicate thing. If that is your lowest grade on your report card, then you're still doing well and can get your grade up. Best Wishes.

Well I am 20 and I can't believe I am giving you advice on how to lie to your mom but I would tell her that they messed up on your grades and you are in the middle of getting them to fix it. If she asks proof I would write a fake note( get a friend with good hand writing) and forge it. If nothing else tell her that the teacher lost some of your work and she is looking for it and maybe she will forget. Other than that I have no clue but to beg for the comp. and promise her you will do better next sem. and if you do not then she can take it away then.

I know you're not going to like this but be honest. If you want to get their attention and show them you are willing to improve and make changes, maybe they'll let you slide. Be prepared, own up to not putting enough effort in to it and have a plan ready to show you are serious about getting back on track. Let them know before your report card gets there. Sit them down, use phrases such as "I'm very disappointed in myself." , "Im willing to do extra credit", " I plan on building my relationship with my math teacher to induce more attention". But please don't wait until the last minute, it's very frustrating for us. We are more angry when things are hidden from us, we consider it lying.

being a good liar makes you very untrustworthy. you are not a good friend. be honest. start with the grade and get off the internet and study. grow up you can lie your way through life it doesnt work that way. so you lose your pc. its not the end of the world

Face the music and tell her the truth. She will know sooner or later. Just tell her what you got on her report card. Lies always catch up to you. The truth will set you free

the best thing to do is why don't you sit down and talk to her, and why dont you tell her what your grades are now and take the punishment she gives you, who knows maybe she will be a little easier on you since you told her ahead of time. and didn't wait. good luck.

First of all you don't NEED a computer in your bedroom. Secondly you're not that good of a liAR...your mother is probably on to you, she's just giving you enough rope to "hang yourself" with, and looks like you've done it.

The PC is needed for homework and other academic purposes, such as projects. That's the best I can come up with...
