there is an old 70s song by Frankie Valli called "My Eyes Adored You" there is also a song by Kenny Nolan called "I Like Dreamin" which is also a song from the 70s.
some of the lyrics to "My Eyes Adored You":
"My eyes adored you/though I never laid a hand on you/my eyes adored you/like a million miles away from me you couldn't see that I adored you/so close/so close and yet so far"
and in "I Like Dreamin'" The writer is daydreaming about this woman he wants and longs for.
There is also another song I just thought of called, "Sad To Belong" by England Dan & John Ford Coley. It is a song about being involved with somebody only to long for somebody else the writer sees. "Its sad to belong to someone else/when the right one comes along"
