I have been trying to figure out the formula to just simply place a number value in one cell and make it appear as text in another cell. How do I assign a value of a number to some text and then have it appear in another cell.

Hi, you'll need to use a macro to do it.

Your question is a big vague. Do you mean "1" being read as "one" -- or do you mean numeric vs. alphanumeric (like reading a social security number as text so you can include preceding "zeros")? The second situation should be easy: just format the cell for numbers for one cell and text for the other. If you're refering to a number = the word for the number, I couldn't help you with that one. Why not check Microsoft's website for possible solutions?

Do you mean go from "1" to "one"? If so, I don't think you can do that with a normal formula (as far as I know, I may be wrong). You may have to use a macro or some sort of script that runs when the cell changes to do that.
