I saw it a LONG time ago, at least 10 years ago, so I don't know if I'll be able to describe it much but I'll try my best. It was about a little girl who had a large group of Imaginary friends. I think one of the main imaginary friends' name was Freddie and he always used to wear green clothes. Her friends were visible to her but not her mother, and I specifically remember when scene where she is sitting in a waiting room at a doctors office or dentist office talking to Freddie. It was a realyl WACKY movie, but does anyone know what I'm talking about?

Drop Dead Fred is a 1991 comedy fantasy film released by New Line Cinema. Rik Mayall stars as Drop Dead Fred, the imaginary friend of Elizabeth, played as an adult by Phoebe Cates. The supporting cast includes Marsha Mason, Tim Matheson, Carrie Fisher, and Ashley Peldon as young Elizabeth.

Synopsis
Spoiler warning: Plot and/or ending details follow.
Elizabeth returns to live at home with her mother after finding out her husband has been cheating on her. In her room, she finds a jack-in-the-box, which held her imaginary friend, Drop Dead Fred, captive since she was a child. Unlike Elizabeth who is wholesome, sweet, and innocent, Fred is a troublemaker that often causes problems for Elizabeth. Of course, since Drop Dead Fred is imaginary, Elizabeth is actually the one creating havoc for herself. We learn that Fred exists to serve as an outlet for Elizabeth whose mother was abusive and demanding.

Elizabeth is taken to a psychiatrist, (Alycia Lutz), who prescribes drugs to get rid of Fred. Furthermore, she reconciles with her husband, only to find out he's still cheating on her. Right before she takes the last pill to get rid of Fred, in an imaginary sequence, Fred leads her to decide to stop allowing her mother and husband to control her life. She moves out with the jack-in-the-box and begins a new life. Fred tells her that she no longer needs him, and she reluctantly agrees, kissing him goodbye, and he disappears.

The final scene has her talking with a real childhood friend Mickey. His daughter runs nearby them, in trouble for making a mess, which she blames on Drop Dead Fred. Fred is not truly gone; he's moved on to another child. The daughter sets up a prank with Fred: hanging her nanny from a tree.

Drop Dead Fred...definately worth buying on DVD. Pheobe Cates plays Elizabeth, RiK Mayall from The Young Ones fame plays Drop Dead Fred.

Excellent and funny movie. Fred was her imaginary friend and when her mother took her to the shrink, he met all the other imaginary friends and only he and the kids they were with could see them. Velcro Head, Namby Pamby, Go to hell Herman, etc. etc.
