sure, but how far we can actually go?...only time will tell. There are many different methods of travel already being explored and pioneered, such as Ion Propulsion, things that used to only be seriously discussed 20 years ago on Star Trek.

The answer is to look to the MONEY.
In the past, each major push of exploration were fueled by two major issues - literal survival and financial gain.
At some point, as our resources start to dwindle, the major multinationals will decide that the Moon, Mars, the asteroid belt, and beyond will have to be exploited for their resources. THEN they will invest the capital needed, not before. So, instead of the USA, China, the ESA or Japan doing the major exploration, Exxon, BP, Alcoa, Bayer, etc. will claim parts of the Solar System (while PRETENDING to obey UN Rulings, of course).

Of course we will. Once the space station is finished, and when we have a lunar base, space ships will be able to utilize their fuel more efficiently and generate speed instead of lift. A trip to Mars is easily within reach, and probably beyond that once rockets get more sophisticated, or may even be replaced by other means of propulsion.

I believe we do have the technology to send people beyond the moon; what lacks is the will and commitment to do it.
To send people further away, i.e. like to the nearest star other than the sun, we need something more advanced. Perhaps when the hyperspace core is invented, then we can. :-)

We have a pretty good idea of whats out there - we sent robots and satellites to most planets. It takes too much money and time and training to send people when robots can do it better. And it takes too much time to get anywhere as it is, much less the closest star - 4 light years away.

It's like when we started sailing & exploring the earth
It will happen when technology makes it possible... travel faster than the speed of light

Yes, if they can build a ship with light speed technology, or hyperspace.
But still if can they build a ship that is fast as light, it still would be years or even millions of years away.
Then they'll need hyperspace technology, which I think is impossible.

it all depends on our current domestic situations here on Earth. In order to travel real far...we have to master artificial gravity in our space ships otherwise the human body will not be able to handle it ! Local war may screw funding up.

It is possible but very difficult. I do think it will happen, but not for a long time.
