If their marriage license was signed by the proper people and properly registered with the state, their marriage is very much legal and valid.

Why are you asking this question? Does your sister want to get unmarried? The answer is that confirmation is not a requirement of a catholic wedding. If they were married in the Catholic Church they went through some counseling first...and the subject would have been discussed. If you're wondering about yourself, you don't have to get confirmed to get married.

I'm sure the preist would not have married them if it was all for not. I'm not Catholic I'm LDS and many of the rituals have thesame meanings. In my church to be married in the temple you must meet with the stake presidency and the bishop before becoming married. You must be baptized to be married in the temple we also have baby blessings and if you are not blessed you still can go to the temple.

I'm sure it will be good in the eyes of god. If they were married in the church.

Call a catholic church and talk to the priest.

legally no.. in the churches eye, they'll probably frown upon it, but there's no legal action to be taken.
