I have a small rat and I was just wondering if rats can get sick???? if so what would I give her to get better???

Yes of course rats get sick. If the rat was sick take it to the vet is the most you could really do.

rats get sick just like any other animal. What are the rats symptoms? It could be any number of things. You might need to see a vet

Yes, rats most certainly get sick. Mycoplasmosis and Benign Mammary Tumors are sadly, all too common in our pet rats. Rats can get most of the ailments that also afflict cats, dogs and humans like heart disease, kidney disease, cancer, liver disease, bladder infection, etc.

The most common illnesses I've run into are respiratory and skin issues, and cancer. I prevent as much as I can with sensitive/allergen free bedding and multivitamins. Cancer often shows up as an abnormal growth on the rats stomach. It'll be a huge bulge, or other lumpy mass.
Sometimes its curable (expensive) and sometimes its terminal.
Hair loss occurs for stress and sometimes illness, and some rats have a Gene that makes them lose their hair for just no reason.

Yes, rats can and do get sick. Mostly they tend to get upper respiratory infections. This involves coughing, sneezing, wheezing, ect... We give our rats prescription medicine proscribed by our vet.

Yessss. Rats are all born with a disease, but in some it will kill them, and in some it never shows. They can also get a ton more diseases but if your rat it having seizrues, coughing blood, its eyes bleed, twitching, loses fur etc its the disease i just mentions.. but i cant remember the name, and if those thing start to happen there really isnt anything you can do for your rat, there isnt any cure..

yes rats can get very sick there isnt much u can do about certain sicknesses. but i used to have rats but they all passed away on respitory problems it was awful.

sometime when they do get sick if they are not cared for in the right way you can catch the same illness and get it even worst..
