Well here's the lyrics
When you removed my mask
I could easily see the fear in your eyes
And then you cowered back
And I knew, I knew you could never love me
And when I saw you two holding each other
I knew, I knew nothing mattered anymore
So I’ll resume my position
As the wretched, the hated, the impure
Phantom of the opera
How could I be so blind?
And think you could love something as horrid as me
You are the image of perfection and pureness
While I represent horror and sorrow
What was thinking?
When I thought you could ever love me
So I’ll resume my position
As the wretched, the hated, the impure
Phantom of the opera
I’m no angel of music
I’m just a horrid monster that wanders beneath an old opera house
So I’ll resume my position
As the wretched, the hated, the impure
Phantom of the opera
And please don't say The Phantom of the Opera. Oh and if anybody can come up with a decent melody please send it to me...it's a hard rock power ballad song

and to stevie l: I know...and I love the musical,I wrote this song because I understand Erick's pain of being heart-broken. I deeply respect Andrew Lloyd Webber and I have no thoughts of writing a better song than him
