The contract has not started yet it starts January 1st. BUt something came up and I need to get my bills down (budget).
I have family shared plan 1000 minutes for $50 including free text messages. Is that a good deal?

Yes that is a good deal for sprint. I have sprint and pay $50 for 700 minutes and another $5 for like 500 text msgs. If you want to get out of the contract then use your phone somewhere you keep losing your signal then press *2 and say credit for a dropped call itll pay you $.50 per dropped call so if you do it enough itll get your bill down some then call and complain that you have no service where you live and keep asking for credits on your bill and finally after you've called and complained a bunch of times then just ask if you can get out of the contract since you dont have very good coverage in your area..

I would call customer care. I'm sure that you would be able to get out of the contract as long as you don't change your rate plan. This would have to be done before January 1st.

Your family plan is a good deal if you think that you and who ever you are sharing with will use the minutes. Another thing the poster above is suggesting that you commit fraud. I wouldn't do that. Sprint/Nextel can see how many dropped calls you have. If you want out of your contract don't change your rate plan and confirm with the rep that your contract has been changed back to what it was before.
