Its not that I don't want anybody using my printer, but its this one person who prints a s**t load of paper using a lot of ink and doesn't pay me back or say thank you. If you know lexmark, they're ink is expensive. I'm constantly showing this person some deals on printers so he can get one himself, but its as if he doesn't get the clue that I don't want him using it. He's also been eating all the food and has been a "free loader" for over a year, has legal issues, and his job ain't taking him anywhere, and he doesn't do anything to help around the house.

Set up a windows password for yourself, and don't set up a "guest" account. As the person, you can take the cord out from the printer and hide it.

Sounds like your printer is the least of your problems!!! If you don't need to use it, just let it run out of ink and paper, and then he will have to buy more if he wants to use it. But seriously, I think you need to have a talk with him and sort things out before things come to a head and things get ugly. The longer he stays, the more legal rights he will have, and the harder it will be for you to get rid of him. Good Luck!!

Wait, this guy lives in your house? Let me take a guess...boyfriend, right? (Sorry, no offense intended.) Anyways, when you're not using the printer, just take out the ink cartrige(s) and hide them somewhere like Sharp Marble said. Or, you could just unplug the cord.

If he is using your desktop/laptop computer, then you can make him an account and make it limited and disable the printer on his end; that way he needs to ask you for permission. However, if you are on a network printer (2 or more computers that use the same printer.) you can restrict printing access to that other computer.

Have you tried to take a BFH and smash the printer to small pieces? Wait, better yet take the Big F'n Hammer to the freeloader!

take the cord or the ink out when you are not using it and put it in a place where the guy can't get it.

while logged in as admin - make him a user acct if he doesn't already have one...

right click the printer icon and choose properties - click the security tab (no security tab - see * at end of answer)...click the advanced button - uncheck the 'inherit from..." box and choose copy on the popup (if its there)
then highlight users...and remove them...leaving system and administrator and your username if you have one(recommended).
click ok ok ok ...

* control panel - folder options - view tab - scroll to end of the list and uncheck 'simple file sharing' - enables security tab...
