Inspired by a friend of mine whose mother died due to lung cancer... I was just touched by him and saw him with a whole new set of eyes after reading his journal for English class...

Yes.. thats my morning ritual.... i would wake up and say "thanks God i am still alive"....... my inspiration is also from a close friend who died couple of years ago of a liver cancer.....

Usually only when I have something to look forward to on that day. I understandw here you are coming from in regards to your friend though. I had someone die due to cancer and another one to organ failure. Just seeing the pain they had to endure I thanked God then that I wasn't suffering. I only wish he could have put them out of their pain quicker.

I'm an atheist so I don't thank God.
However the case, I am still thankful that I have been allowed to survire yet another beautiful day on this earth.
Every morning, I realize how precious life really is.

oh yes. most of time, i admit i forget to give thanks for even waking up. but i think of that quite often. i've got 2 kids i'm raising on my own and they need me so i'm very thankful that God still allows me to be with them.

yeah, my friend died this summer(methadone overdose)and it really hit hard.he was just a kid...it really made me look around me to the ones i love and realize i was glad to be alive..and i feel for you and your friend...good luck in life
